Toni Caballero (born in Valencia in 1991) is a professional illustrator and manga artist. After completing a postgraduate degree in illustration at the ESAT in Valencia, he began working tirelessly in the comic book industry and became a finalist in Norma Editorial's manga competition four times. He has also worked as an illustrator for various cultural events and brands, including Fnac, Heroes Comic Con and Panini Comics.
His realistic pop style has earned him several awards from SMA (Coamix Inc./North Star Pictures) in Japan.
In 2020, he began publishing the manga Backhome in Planeta Manga with Valencian scriptwriter Sergio Hernández. This fast-paced thriller is reminiscent of the work of Oku Hiroya and Kengo Hanazawa. Just one year later, they both received the Diafebús Youth Novel Award for their work El Diari de Laia (Laia’s Diary). Another notable work is Reflejos del Futuro (Reflections of the Future), which he published in Planeta Manga alongside Blanca Mira. In 2022, Backhome was released in book format, marking the start of a new stage in his career with Planeta Cómic. He has also published the graphic novel I Am Legend with Sergio Hernández. He is a regular contributor to Planeta Manga and Manga Issho magazines.
