Manga Kids

The MANGA KIDS ACADEMY is an integral part of Manga Barcelona, created with the aim of highlighting the knowledge acquired through manga and anime, so that families can share the experience of identifying, learning and living Japanese everyday life.

This year the MANGA KIDS ACADEMY has a special guest who has been a part of our households for 30 years: DORAEMON. With him and his friends we have shared breakfasts, trips and adventures. He has encouraged us to find solutions to everyday challenges, to travel through time and space, and to appreciate our friends.

On this 30th anniversary, DORAEMON accompanies us in the Japanese language and culture activities we have prepared for the little ones at home in the MANGA KIDS ACADEMY.

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO!

At MANGA KIDS ACADEMY, children are the protagonists. You are welcomed to join our activities from 12 to 18 in the afternoon. We have up to 4 different activities that change depending on the time and group, always with the help of the senseis. Are you ready to unleash your creativity and imagination?

• CHOOSE YOUR NAME IN JAPANESE! If you could choose the name of a Doraemon character, what would it be? Noby? Shizuka? Big G? Sneech? Doraemon??? Pick the one you like best, find out how to spell it in Japanese, and draw it your way!
• DORAEMON IS A CAT... if you could have a cosmic animal at home, would you want a cat? Or rather a dog? Or a little fish? A turtle? It's time to add a new member to the family unit: a new pet. Choose the one you like best and create it with origami - we senseis can help you!
• THE ACADEMY OF INVENTIONS. Inventions are really helpful: when you are in the dark, you can feel lucky because someone invented the light bulb; if Noby and his friends want to fly, they can count on the hopter... And you, what do you want to create? What does humanity need? Activate your imagination and creativity and create a new and original invention, it will stay forever on the Invention Board!
• THE ACADEMY VALUES: You do not only acquire knowledge in school: you also learn what is important and why it is worth fighting, working, being better. Choose one of the Japanese school values you see in Doraemon and so many other manga, paint it and decorate it as you like.

Activities with senseis are from 12 to 18 in the afternoon, but the academy is open to everyone at all times. Come whenever you want to read manga and draw... always Doraemon and his friends!
