To celebrate its 30th anniversary, this classic anthology will be shown in a restored 4K version. Memories, produced by Katsuhiro Otomo (the “father” of Akira), was released on December 23, 1995. It is an omnibus film consisting of three short films: Magnetic Rose, written by Satoshi Kon and directed by Koji Morimoto; Stink Bomb, written by Katsuhiro Otomo and directed by Tensai Okamura; and Cannon Fodder, written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo.
The screening is part of the “Anime Archive” section inaugurated last year at Manga BCN Auditorium, which rescues classic and cult anime gems. Memories will delight science fiction, dystopia, and steampunk lovers. A memorable classic!
