The Mori Detective Agency receives a call from Inspector Wani, Kogoro's former colleague, requesting that they investigate Kansuke Yamato's case. Yamato is a police officer from Nagano Prefecture who was shot in the eye during an avalanche in the mountains months ago. He is now investigating a case at the Nobeyama National Astronomical Observatory that may be related to his injury. Conan and Kogoro respond to the call.

The 28th film in the saga of our favorite detective will be shown at the Manga BCN Auditorium, the annual gathering place for Conan fans. The film is directed by anime industry veteran Katsuya Shigehara, who has worked on films such as Suzume, Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram, and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos: The Movie.
