This lavish, spectacular play draws on elements from Japanese fantasy folklore.

The feared gang leader, Hanbei, is actually an elderly man with a soft heart. Furthermore, his cunning wife Oise is the one pulling the strings from the shadows.
When the assassin Ginji is sent to kill Hanbei, a strange lightning bolt switches their souls, and both must adapt to their new bodies, creating chaos around them.
