The Consulate General of Japan in Barcelona has announced a new call for entries for the 20th Japan International MANGA Awards.
Established in 2007 by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the awards recognise international artists who promote manga culture outside Japan and encourage global cultural dialogue through this artistic form.
Many Spanish talents have already won this award throughout its history. Well-known artists such as Ana C. Sánchez, Ana Oncina and Efa have been recognised in this competition, which highlights non-Japanese mangaka.
The contest is open to creators residing in Spain, who must submit their work to the relevant Japanese diplomatic mission. For more information on submitting applications in Barcelona, please visit the Consulate General of Japan in Barcelona's website. Registration is open until 30 June 2026.
