Diana Tolin has been a cosplayer and member of the Japanese Pop Culture industry for over 25 years. She worked in licensing, translation, localization, costuming and as a cosplayer in the anime industry, crafting costumes for companies such as Aniplex USA, Funnimation, Square/Enix, Marvel Entertainment, Nintendo USA, and SCRAP Real Escape Rooms. Diana represented the United States at World Cosplay Summit in 2016 and returned as an alumni in 2017.
Diana worked at the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation from 2018 to 2021 as the organizer for WCS USA and Entertainment Coordinator for their flagship show, Anime Expo. She developed digital cosplay events and educational, cultural, and scripted content. for SPJA/Anime Expo Lite and was a producer, script writer, and on-site showrunner for Anime Expo Lite 2022.
She has served as a guest curator of Cosplay for the Williams College Museum of Art exhibit ‘Repro Japan: Technologies of Popular Visual Culture’ and in 2022 opened the cosplay exhibition ‘Crafting Global Friendships: Celebrating 20 Years of the World Cosplay Summit’ as lead curator with the cooperation of the Japan Information and Culture Center - Japan Embassy, the Japan Foundation, New York, and the WCS USA Alumni.
Diana currently works directly with World Cosplay Summit to support all teams and create international sponsorship opportunities and prizing and as the Director of Cosplay and Main Events at Holiday Matsuri in Orlando, Florida. She has helped to develop US participation in the Nordic Cosplay Championship (NCC), Gyeongii International Cosplay Festival (GICOF), the Extreme Cosplay Gathering (ECG).
Diana lives in Los Angeles and loves creating exciting cosplay opportunities for cosplayers around the world.
