SERGIO HERNÁNDEZ

Sergio Hernández (Valencia, 1994) is a writer and screenwriter who has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Valencia and a screenwriting degree from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.

In 2015, he published 365 primeras citas (365 First Dates) with Alupa Editorial, the same year he started writing scripts for various radio programmes with Plaza Radio and Play Radio Valencia. Months later, he transitioned to audiovisual media, adapting his work for the short film format for the National Spanish Televison. In 2019, he published La última canción de primavera (The Last Song of Spring - OléLibros), which received fantastic reviews from critics and filmmakers such as Isabel Coixet.

In 2020, he collaborated with illustrator Toni Caballero to publish Backhome (Planeta Cómic), a fast-paced thriller originally published in Planeta Manga which has since been translated into Italian and French. Just one year later, they both received the Diafebús Prize for Young Adult Fiction for their work El Diari de Laia (Laia’s Diary - Drassana), which quickly became popular among Valencia's Generation Z.

In 2023 and 2024, he collaborated with Lolita Aldea on Hysteria (Planeta Cómic), and adapted Richard Matheson's legendary work I Am Legend into a graphic novel for Planeta Cómic.

In September of that same year, his first novel, La letra herida (The Wounded Letter - Contraluz), was published. He is currently working as a scriptwriter on the series THE GIRLZ by Manga Issho, alongside Toni Caballero.
